Teachings on "The Wheel Of Analytical Meditation" Part1
by Khenchen Pema Shreab Rinpoche

Online via ZOOM. Translation by Khenpo Sönam Tsewang into Englisch from the Tibetan

Khenchen Pema Sherab Rinpoche
was born in Eastern Tibet in 1939 and began studying all schools of Buddhism in Lhasa at the age of 14. He received the monk ordination from Shechen Kongtrul in 1959 and had to flee from Tibet in the same year. In Indian exile he received numerous teachings from Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Dudjom Rinpoche, Penor Rinpoche and Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche. Since the early founding (1968) of the now largest buddhist monastery Namdröl Ling in South India by S.H. Penor Rinpoche, Pema Sherab Rinpoche teaches there for about 1000 monks and nuns. He belongs to the old generation of Buddhist scholars in Tibet and is the Dzogchen lineage holder of the Palyul Nyingma tradition. Rinpoche is one of the greatest Nyingma Khenpos of our time.

"The Wheel of Analytical Meditation That Thoroughly Purifies Mental Activity" is a text by Mipham Rinpoche.
Analytical meditation is truly a unique quality of buddhist teachings. The Buddha always taught that we need to analyze, that we need to question, that we should never accept anything with blind faith. We have to analyze first and then on the basis of analysis we gain certainty. Then a real experience can arise because it is our own certainty.

Whatever problems there are in the world are created by the afflictions in our own minds.
A mistaken attitude is a cause for the kleśas, yet the pattern of our thoughts can be refined.

Here there are three sections:
1. how to meditate,
2. the measure of progress, and
3. the significance of the practice.
