PARTICIPATION: on-site and online
LANGUAGES: German and English
Singing mantras is a spiritual practice common to many traditions. Mantra comes from the Sanskrit word mantram. It combines the two roots manas (mind) and tram (protection), so it literally translates as “protection of the mind”.
Buddhist mantras are more than just combinations of words and syllables. They protect the mind from disturbing emotions and thoughts and are used in meditation to achieve deep concentration. By repeating these special words, you can center yourself, find inner peace, and connect with certain qualities. To achieve a deeper connection and resonance, it is helpful to know the meaning of the mantras. Mantras that are chanted, especially when sung, unfold their energetic and healing effects on body, speech, and mind.
The well-known Buddhist mantras are, for example: OM MANI PADME HUM,
OM TARE TUTTARE TURE SVAHA, GATE GATE PARAGATE PARASAMGATE BODHI SVAHA
Let’s sing together and meditate on the meaning!
