Khenchen NyimaKhenchen Nyima Gyaltsen, born in Kham, was ordained in Lho Lungkar when he was 12 years old. With 18 years he left Tibet and successfully completed the nine-year study program in only seven years at the renowned Dzongsar-Khyentse-Institute in Bir, North India. After two years, while teaching in Jangchubling, he was given the status of a Khenpo and since then he is also responsible for the training program of western translators. Since 2005 he continuously resides and teaches at the Kagyu College in Dehradun. In October 2013 he was ceremonially enthroned by H.H. the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang as Khenpo Thripa, who is in charge of all the monasteries in exile.
